PANOPTICON is an experiment in total situational awareness for physical environments — spatial capture with Gaussian splatting, near-live digital twins, object and change detection, augmented-reality overlays. A building that can answer questions about itself.
It is also deliberately named. Watching environments is a governance minefield — consent, retention, lawful purpose, privacy in shared space — and that is precisely the research: how far visibility can go while remaining defensible. The controls were designed before the first camera was mounted.
The prototype runs in a private environment. Access, unsurprisingly for this one, is invite-only.
