Food & local resilience — entered at the bottom, on purpose

From the boardroom to the farm gate.

The same machinery that governs AI inside a bank, built for a shop with three staff. Food leads because food is the business a place cannot do without — and the business least able to buy its way into modern technology.

Why this sector

Chosen by consequence: food is the business a place cannot do without.

A place needs its producers, its butchers, its bakers and its farm shops more than it needs almost anything else — and they are the businesses least able to buy their way into modern technology. Enterprise AI has been built for organisations with a transformation budget; we chose the other end on purpose. What breaks if it goes wrong is a town’s ability to feed itself. What compounds if it goes right is more local produce reaching local homes. The market is small in invoice terms and large in every measure that matters.

Around food sit the other trades a high street runs on. Food is where the sector starts, not a fence around it.

What we built here

Thirty-three local builds, and one product the sector produced.

Stroud, and the valleys around it

EAIC is based in Stroud, and it is not incidental. This is a town that has cared about where its food comes from for longer than it has been fashionable, full of independent businesses that are very good at what they do and badly served by the technology sold to them. We build for our own high street first because it is our own high street. What works here travels: the machinery is the same wherever it goes.

Honest noif a shop is better off not buying, we say so

More produce reaching local homes, repetitive work falling, the owner experiencing less technology — not more. That is the whole scorecard.

What the builds look like

Sites that sell, capability that finishes the job.

A site that sells, not a brochure

Catalogue, ordering, collection and delivery slots, seasonal preorders — built around the trading pattern the business actually has, not a template’s idea of one.

Capability, not a chatbot

Turn a recipe into a basket. Triage a customer’s problem to the right answer — or tell someone honestly that the shop cannot help, and who can.

Every agent drafts and stops

Nothing is sent, published or promised on the owner’s behalf without a person approving it. The same approval discipline we build into a regulated AI estate, at a scale a shop can live with.

What we won’t claim

The boundaries, stated before you have to ask.

  • We will not sell a transformation programme to a shop of three staff. The engagements here are small, fixed and understandable.
  • We will not ask an owner to become a technology user to benefit from AI. We learn how they already work and put a simple human interaction in front of it.
  • We will not treat food as the fence. Around it sit the other trades a high street runs on, and we build for those too.
  • We will not claim a scale we do not have. Thirty-three builds is the honest number, and each one starts with the business in front of us.
